Following the instructions below, learn how to delete a Trello board and read more about using them in your workspace. On Trello, you can share and invite users to become a member of your board. If you want to delete the board, you have to close it in your workspace on Notion.
The following sections will guide you through finding, closing, and deleting a board in your Trello Workspace. In later sections, additional information explains how to invite users to your board to become a member on the app and website.
How to Close a Trello Board
Here are the instructions on how to close a board on Trello:
- First, log in to your Trello account and click the board
- Click the three-dot icon in the top right corner
- At the bottom of the list, click “Close Board…”
- To confirm, click “Close” again
If you decide to close a board, you do have the option to reopen the board. When you delete a board, it is permanently deleted.
Mobile App
You can close a board on the Trello app by downloading and logging in to the app. When you log in, you will see a page that says “Your Workspaces” at the top. Below that, you can tap “Boards” on the right side next to your name.
You should see a list of your Boards; tap the board you want to close. On the top right, find and tap the three-dot button. Find and Tap the next three-dot button in the top right of the “Board Menu.”
Scroll to the bottom of the “Board Settings” and tap “Close Board.” The board will close, and you can reopen it by tapping “Reopen.”
Where to Find Closed Boards on Trello
When you log on to your Trello account and go to the main page, you should see a section labeled “Boards.” At the bottom, click the “View closed boards” button. A popup page will appear with a list of your closed boards. If you want to reopen a specific board, you can click the “Reopen” button, as mentioned earlier.
To find your closed boards on the app, tap the “Account” tab in the bottom right. Tap your name in the “Your Workspaces” section. You should see a list of your closed boards on this page in the mobile app. To delete a board on your desktop, read the next section.
How to Delete a Trello Board
Let’s go over how to delete a Trello Board:
- Follow the instructions above showing you how to close a board
- Click “View closed boards” to find the board you want to delete
- Click the “Delete” button to remove the board
- Your board will be permanently deleted
As mentioned earlier, you can delete a board quickly after closing it on the website. When you close the board, it will go to a list where you can remove it from your workspace. There is also another way to quickly delete the board without using the steps above.
When you initially close the board, a page should appear that says, “*Board Name* is closed.” At the bottom, there will be two buttons labeled “Reopen board” and “Permanently delete board.” If you click the “Permanently delete board” button, Trello will delete the board from your workspace.
You can delete the board directly from the page after closing it. Either option will remove the board from your workspace.
Where to Find Your Trello Boards
Mobile App
If you want to find your boards on the Trello app, you can log in to your account and tap the “Boards” tab on the bottom left. When you open the app, the main page should display a section labeled “Your Workspaces,” where you can view your workspaces.
Tap the “Boards” button next to the workspace name, and the app will direct you to a page of your boards.
Desktop
On the Trello website, you can find your boards by logging in and clicking your workspace. On the left side, you should see a section labeled “Your boards.” This section lets you view your boards or add a new board to your workspace.
Invite Someone to a Trello Board
You can invite another user to your Trello board on the mobile app and the desktop version.
Mobile App
On the app, tap on a board and select the three-dot icon in the top right corner. You should see a section labeled “Members” on the menu; this is where you can view the members in your Trello board. Find and tap the blue “Invite…” button in this section.
You can search for a user by “name, username, or email.” There is also an option to connect your contacts on the mobile app. If you want to send a link, tap the blue “Invite” button and send the link to someone. This option will invite the user as a member.
Desktop
Find and click the “Share” button in the top right corner of the website. You can search for the user in the text box at the top and change the invitation from “member” to “observer” if you have the premium plan.
After searching for the user, you want to add to your board, click the “Invite” button. Alternatively, there is a share link below the search bar that you can copy and send to another user. You have the ability to change the permissions for this link. In the next section, I will show you where you can find the board link and QR code.
Find Trello Board Link and QR Code
To find your board link, select the board in your workspace and click the three-dot icon in the top right. On the menu, click “More” and scroll to the bottom of the list. You will see a section labeled “Link to this board.” Your board link should be in the text box where you can copy and share it with others.
Below the link is a button labeled “Show QR code.” When you click this button, your QR code will appear in a popup where you can click “Download” to share it with others.
