Open the App and Tap “Log in”
When you open the app, you should have the option to create a new account with Venmo or log into your account. You will see the “Log in” button at the bottom of the screen.
Enter Your Email, Username, or Number
You should see a screen with a section to let you enter your “Email, username or phone number” at the top. Below this, you should have the option to enter your password. If you don’t know your password, you can proceed with the following steps.
Select “Forgot your password?”
If you don’t know the password to your Venmo account, you can reset it using the app. Select “Forgot your password?” at the bottom below the section that lets you type your password.
Enter your Phone Number or Email Address
To reset your Venmo password, you need access to your phone or email so Venmo can send you a password reset link. I used the phone number option, but you could use either.
Tap “Reset Password”
After you enter your phone number or email, you can tap “Reset Password” and wait for a link to be sent to your phone or email from Venmo.
Open the Email or Text, Click the Link (Make sure it’s from Venmo)
When you receive the link, make sure it comes from Venmo, and you can open it. The link should bring you to the Venmo website, where you can create a new password for your Venmo account.
Enter your New Password Twice
You will have to enter your new password twice before proceeding, so you can confirm that you want to use that password. This second password input can be a great way to ensure you entered the correct new password.
Tap “Save Password”
You can now select save the password and open the Venmo app to test your new password.
